CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I think it's a usual comment the fact that we have studied architecture the same way for an entire century, so it's obvious that our learning it's obsolete. Also, it's known that the first time you do an actual job, like to practice or after you graduate, you feel like you have no idea on what you are doing. So I would say that the first thing we can point out in our career is the learning method.
As for curriculum I don't have that much knowledge on what we should know yet, personally I highly doubt I'll be able to be a calculation engineer, so sometimes while I'm studying that I feel like I'm losing my time, but I also understand that it is an important part of my formation.
For teachers, I, personally, don't have any complain, but I know that a lot of my classmates are mistreated here, for some reason, all the teachers here want you to be superhuman because "that's what it takes to be in this university", I think it is a stupid idea, those teachers seem to be brainwashed with the idea that they are better professionals just because they graduated from here and that makes no sense.
As for faculty facilities, we are totally lacking, even if it is an architecture faculty, there isn't universal accesibilities, we are lacking space when it comes to classrooms, we don't have enough bathrooms (says the normative), we don't have an adecuate space to have lunch, and recently the ceiling is falling and it's getting really dangerous.
To finish I would like to say that some spaces like the free computer lab, mapoteca, library and other should be permanently open, since we have other classes, apart from workshop and we can't really control the times we have to work outside the classroom.

Personal Opinions

What is your opinion about the US, Chilean, Argentine, and Brazilian far right governments and how they will impact our neighboring countries?

It has been proved that after a complex period of protest, no matter how much benefit it gave to society and no matter how big it was, people vote for conservatives again, due to an unbased wish to stop social changes, even if they don't completely disagree with the new ideas. Given that, all countries that experience this situation, enter in a setback process from all that has been achieved with social articulation and force. Also, because of nowadays globalization, the arrive of these far right governments ends up affecting the rest on the world. My opinion here is really clear, people is so used to be pasive that they don't want to accept a change in their lives and the responsability that comes with it, I think that the lack of participation and the traditionally far right votes, comes from people that reject to be aware of their responsability in today's society.

What is your opinion about the military?

The military is one of the multiple traditional institutions that are still up in the country. They create a illusion of motherland, tradition, hierarchy and unecessary power of Chile as a nation (unfairly the only nation in our country), given that, population, even today, still has deliriums of unuseful wars and rivalties with our neighbors. My opinion on an institution that had the guts to kill their own people and stole big amounts of money from the state, it's that they need to lose the power they have in society today. A war would never be an option, it's never a solution. As a country, we need to stop investing money on training young people to go to a unexistent future war. Apart from that, military has another administrative jobs, I don't have a problem with it, as long as they have the same conditions of any other worker (f.e same years of service, as the rest of people, before retiring). Wich makes me more sad about this is that a lot of young people enter the military after graduting high school, because they don't have the money to keep studying, so  they end inside a violent institution without having a real choice.

What is your opinion about “barras bravas” (hooligans)?

I'm a hardcore fan of football (or soccer, I hate to call it like that), since I was young, my family has always been involved with it, specially leading amateur football clubs, so I have seen, firsthand, how destructive and violent hooligans can be. In my opinion, this is highly a culture matter, but it clearly isn't just a will issue. Hooligans come from vulnerable contexts, they learn since young that one of the few things that they have the right to be passionated about is football, that, plus the fact that they grow up in the middle of violence and drugs abuse, leads to them being barras bravas. If as society we could recognize that, we could go way more far with a solution. Personally, I was a fan of Chelsea F.C even before that being a fan of the national team. In England is were Hooligans started appearing, and after a lot of work and projects, you can see that the stadiums there doesn't even have barriers between the public and the football field anymore. Shouldn't government research for an actually effective method?

What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in all cases?

My opinion on this is pretty short, because I start recognizing that women has been historically deprived of their sexual rights. Women can never decide, women always have to be take the responsability for their sexual life, even if ,clearly, there was someone else there, and most important, according to society, no matter if they didn't have access to sexual education or support, they must ALWAYS take the responsability of parenting. These ideas don't have a base nowadays, only the sexist and retrograde ideas. At the end, we just have to keep fighting or wait to old people to die (sorry not sorry) so we can walk forward on society.

Pot and other substances

I haven't used a lot of types of drugs during my life, but when it comes to illegal substances I did use a lot of marijuana years ago. It started when I was sixteen and I tried it with my friends, I remember I was pretty scared, despite my friends telling me that I wasn't going to feel anything, since it was my first time trying it. That actually happened and after that I started to smoke pot regularly. During my senior year in high school, me and my friends used it a lot, and during my first semester here I started smoking even more frequently. But after some months I got really bored of it and later I started to feel uncomfortable when I was high, at the end I stopped consuming it voluntarily. I don't have a bad experience with it but to be honest being high isn't appealing to me anymore.
I never had prejudices with pot before since my dad smokes regularly and he even produces marijuana oil sometimes for the elders in my family, so I never saw it as something bad, but what irritates me a lot is when people is way to into it (just because they want to) and isn't capable to function without it, I used to be really angry with my friends when they wouldn't work with me for classes because they were too high and did everything SO slow. But apart from that, I don't think I have a problem as long as you are mature enough to not get too attached to it. But what really worries me is when people use another drugs (and sometimes marijuana too) to escape their reality. Drugs addiction isn't the cause of the problem, but the consequence, and I think it's stupid that society prefers to judge and punish instead of recognizing and working on the real situation. In countries like Portugal drugs aren't even illegal anymore, they choose to worry about what really matters and they don't have high consume statitics anymore.
My mom is a social worker and she's specifically into the drugs abuse prevention program, I have heard the saddest stories about young and old people being so depressed that being unconscious is the only way out of their sadness and frustration.
I was going to attach a photo of me high but I couldn't find one. I think I already said a lot, bye :)

Postgraduate studies.

Since I'm just starting my university studies (this is just my second year) I haven't think about any postgraduate studies for my future, but I do have reasons on why I should do it. To be honest I'm not very excited with the idea of being a projectist architect, so I feel that I have to keep studying if I want to work in something that I like. Lucky for me an architect can do a lot of stuff, and to relate my career with my other likes, I would love to take a Master on fashion design.
Architects in fashion is a really common situation, some incredible high fashion designers come from the architecture world, like Gianni Versace or Balmain House.
Both fashion designers and architects learn perception, how to work with volumes, color and others, what usually links both works is that both try to make art out of a necesity.
If I could choose I would prefer to save money and then start full time studying again(presencially), because I really like to dedicate a lot of time to my classes, if that's not the case then I guess I would go for a blended system.
While studying I would like to take courses in two areas, first, design and confection and also fashion marketing (I have always been kind of attracted to this area, but I never considered try it).
To study something like this in a country with a history in fashion (like France or Italy) would be awesome and it would be a plus for my formation, so that would be great. Also, it might be necessary to study abroad, since I have never heard of this kind of courses in Chile.
I think that's everything I wanted to say, to close the topic, I'll leave a photo of Karlie Kloss wearing a Victor and Rolf's dress, inspired in the Sydney Opera House (I think it's and awful dress but at least it shows my point)

F O O D

Okay so first of all, this is going to be almost a catalogue of my favorites foods, since I don't have a history with cooking.
I completely, absolutely, extremely suck at cooking, plus I don't really like to do it (makes no sense since I really like to eat). For example, two days ago I bought some vegan burgers (they were made of tomato and mushrooms and were pretty good), so I came home and attempted to prepare them, first, I made rice (that kinda works) and then I had to fry the burgers. Even if they were good at the end, I burnt my hand :( and stuff like that happens all the time when I try to cook. So honestly, I prefer to be hungry than having to cook.
For the good part of the post:
I'm not picky with food I think, the only thing I don't like is red meat, chicken and turkey, mostly because I'm not an animal esthusiast, so I'm not really fond of eat their corpses either.
But what I do like in meat is fish (I like them alive too) and seafood. Maybe because I come from a coast side city? Idk.  I like these dishes in any type of preparation.

Also I'm big big fan of spicy food, any vegetables and fruits (I'm a lazy eater too so I prefer them in juice), my favorites fruits are coconut and raspberries.

As for drinks, apart from fruit juices, I like water and I drink a giant amount of tea cups a day jeje, I like to collect different types of tea so I can try a lot of them, one of favorites it's the jazmin flower tea.

Lastly, my favorite part, I'm big daily consumer of dairy, so desserts are really important to me, the only sweet flavor that I'm not a big fan of is chocolate, and I don't like ice cream that much either, but when it comes to cakes and cookies, I could eat them all day.

And that's it, goodbye! <3

My future job

My future job.

Since I'm currently studying architecture I guess I'm supposed to be an architect in the future (and i hope so). To be honest, I really like my career, but I would like to work in the  investigation field instead of architecture design, sadly, that's not really well paid or not paid at all at least you are a teacher, so I doubt I'll be able to do that. The idea of working in an office doesn't stress me out to be honest, I prefer that than being outdoors. Anyway I wouldn't like to be just an architect forever, My dream job has always been being a waitress (I haven't tried it yet because I'm so distracted and I tend to go on a rant talking when I meet new people, so I feel I'll mess it up). I like styling, interior deco, writing too so I would like to do that at least for some years, and get to travel a lot while doing it, but the salary for those jobs could be bad too, so if by then I haven't made a lot of money, I might not be able to do it. Also, it isn't a job itself but I really hope I'll have time in the future to study a lot of different languages.  To be honest I just realized I don't even have a plan to do all of these things, but even if it's not the exact activities I said I wanted to do, I hope at least to be able to have a non conventional job for awhile, also I wish that happens while I'm still young, like before 30 or something...
I think that's all, I don't really know what photo should I post, so I'll just try to show you what I was referring to.

for example that's the stylist job in a fashion show backstage, isn't it beautiful?. Even if it's not for Alexander Mcqueen (lol) I'll love to do that someday.

I'm super messy so I imagine this is how my job station as a writer would look.

A coffe house I'd love to work at.

Except for the cow print in the floor ( I don't like animal print) I love how this place is decorated, I would put even more patterns and stuff so that way minimal can go die <3

That's everything for today, bye!

The best holidays ever.

My favorite holidays happened when I was sixteen, four years ago. Me and my dad wanted to go out, and it was my turn to choose were (since he always picked up places I didn't like, like mountains or countryside), that time I said I wanted to go to a beach, and that's how we ended up traveling to Pichilemu. We were camping near the beach for five days, I got to know a lot of beaches near the area and to eat a lot of delicious food, the weather was really nice and after lunch I was practically all day in the sea.

We visited some old houses from the area, got to see a lot of surfers and did a lot of shopping too, but the main activity was to drive in between the beaches and swimming in them for a while.

It has been the best so far because I really like to go the beach (basically the only nature place I tolerate, I hate outdoors), I didn't knew Pichilemu before that time and I loved it, I met a lot of different people at the camping where we were spending the night, and last but not least, I got a great tan that summer.

A country I'd like to visit

So whenever i get this question i struggle to find an answer, there is so many places i would like to visit! but my life time dream has been visiting Portugal, Greece and Japan. I'll choose the last one since reaching Asia seems way more difficult than Europe, here it goes:
To visit an asian country sounds really interesting and refreshing for me, everything it's so different so it sounds like so much fun! My main reasons to choose Japan between all the asian countries are; first; it's an island (and that's pretty unique by itself), second; the night city view seems amazing, third, the food! i have seen photos and everything looks so good and yummy, not to mention that even food seems to be cute there and fourth the Harajuku street; that's a place in Tokyo where fashion trends are all so beautiful and extravagant, and everyday teens and adults reunites there just to show their amazing outfits.
Apart from the fact that the culture is very different and that their architecture looks interesting, i don't know that much about Japan. If i ever go there, i would like to take night walks and get some streetfood (i have seen how some food trucks or similar are open until really late). Finally, i would like to go there only as a tourist, since being a worker or a student in Japan seems to be kind of stressfull.

Fau as social center

Our faculty welcomes every year a new batch of students, some of them are just finishing their highschool experience, others were working for a year or were already studying at university.  While you study here you get to know your classmates and the older ones, but also teachers and other workers in this big universe of different people. Seeing that, fau seems to be a great place to make new friends in the classroom or to know someone while drinking beer at Las Pircas.
